Secular Geometry

Secular Geometry was made as a foray into painting. The series attempts to visually express how emotions transform under pressure. Shame, fear, and disconnection are symptoms of the systems we find ourselves living within. We’re taught culturally that success is a matter of personal grit, and suffering is our individual responsibility. Meanwhile, the structures meant to support us often leave us isolated, exhausted and under-resourced.

Secular Geometry tries to visually represent the impact of external conditions on internal experiences, showing both how we are drained and buoyed by our environments, interpersonal connections, and the perseverance of hope.
